Job Description

The Medical Receptionist at our Kawerau Medical Centre plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of patient appointment systems, providing proficient, warm and welcoming services that reflect Tūhoe values and foster positive community relationships. 

This is a part-time role, and the hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 8am to 3pm.

The main responsibilities of our Medical Receptionist include:

  • Managing all patient enquiries at reception and on the phone
  • Complete patient bookings ensuring the right appointment, at the right time, with the right health professional
  • Complete admin duties such as invoicing and banking
  • Maintain patient records and the database with meticulous attention to detail
  • Build positive relationships with our community, staff and other stakeholders

The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a deep commitment to contributing to high standards of patient care.   • Have previous experience in a medical centre setting.
  • Are patient/people focussed but still care about the detail.
  • Can learn systems quickly and adaptable.

  • Are professional, with a great time-management, punctuality and attendance record.
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy seeing the health and wellness of people and community.
