About the mahi:
Partnering closely with the CFO, you'll guide the audit process, ensuring compliance and best practices. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll foster a cohesive and high-performing team, motivating and inspiring them to achieve their full potential. By driving organisational visibility through insightful financial information, you'll fuel informed decision-making, empower our communities, and contribute to a brighter future for the next generation.
Given the complexity of our group reporting, we are looking for someone with real experience in the New Zealand environment. This includes:
Preparing financial statements under NZ PBE standards.
Hands-on involvement in group audits and year-end processes.
Understanding of NZ tax, GST (apportionment), and consolidation requirements.

Proven experience in leading and managing financial operations, including budgeting and reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Experience in providing training and development opportunities for others.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
Experience working with external auditors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
A minimum of five years of relevant New Zealand accounting experience, including audit preparation or year-end reporting in a PBE or not-for-profit environment.
