Job Description
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice with leadership. You'll continue providing high-quality primary healthcare while supporting and developing the nursing and HCA team, leading quality improvement initiatives, and helping shape the future of our health services.
You'll be involved in:
Leading and mentoring nurses and healthcare assistants
Supporting clinical quality, compliance, and best practice
Championing health programmes and initiatives that improve whānau outcomes
Working alongside the Practice Manager to support capability development and service improvement
Delivering a full range of primary care nursing services, including assessment, triage, screening, immunisation, chronic care management, and health promotion
Building strong relationships with whānau and external health providers to ensure coordinated care.
Desired Skills and Experience
What We Are Looking For:
You'll be an experienced Registered Nurse, Designated Prescriber or Nurse Practitioner who enjoys supporting others to succeed and is passionate about delivering excellent care in a community-focused environment.
Ideally you'll bring:
Current NZ Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate
Proven General Practice experience
Advanced clinical assessment skills
IMAC vaccinator certification
Cervical smear taker certification
Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading clinical staff
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A commitment to culturally safe and holistic healthcare
An understanding of, or willingness to learn, the unique operating environment of Tūhoe health services.
